BARLA GREAT BRITAIN U21’S ON PARADE IN AUGUST
The Unison BARLA Great Britain U21’s return action in August following their successful tour of Russia last month when they returned unbeaten. They are to play the Army on Saturday 7th August at West Hull ARLFC. The kick off time will be confirmed later.
The BARLA Great Britain Open Age side last played the Army over three years ago when the Army went down 26-14. It is the first time an Under 21’s side have played them.
BARLA Great Britain International Team manager Mick Turner said,
“I was contacted by the Army and asked if we could put a side out against them and immediately agreed and it was decided between the two parties that our Under 21’s would have the honour of playing them.
“It should be good to see how far both sides have progressed and the standards of rugby league they are playing and taking the development of both sides to the next level. It is another prestigious request from one of our Armed Services and that is how BARLA see this invite.
“The management and coaching staff that were in charge of the tour of Russia will once again be in charge of the squad. We just have to arrange the time of the kick off of the game and make sure that both sides are happy with this.”
