THE BARLA GREAT BRITAIN UNDER 23’S TOUR OF UKRAINE

The BARLA Great Britain Under 23’s squad set off for Luton Airport this morning from the Village Hotel, Tingley, South Leeds after an overnight stay for their flight to Kiev Airport. From Kiev they will board an overnight sleeper train to Kharkiv, Ukraine arriving at 6.30am on Thursday 3rd June.

The squad will play two games during their stay at Kharkiv playing the Ukraine in the Memory Cup and the Ukraine ‘A’ before returning home in the early hours of Saturday 12th June.

BARLA Great Britain Under 23’s Tour Manager Roger Fagge said,

“We have visited and played the Ukraine sides in the last few years to help develop the game is this country which has huge potential to offer on the international stage. BARLA has a great relationship with Ukraine Rugby League and long may that continue to grow.

“We have a young but experienced playing squad who are looking forward to the challenges and the different styles of culture they will meet. For many it will be their first step onto the BARLA international pathway. I am sure they will all want to be in contention for the BARLA Great Britain Open Age side which will go on tour in 2011.”
