Hull League title race hotting up

THE title race for the GMB Union Hull & District Premier Division is hotting up and this week top of the table West Hull Lions come up against Skirlaugh Bulls, who are also in the hunt.

Jimmy Walker and Rob Wilson's Lions side have had a weeks rest, while Steve Grannon and Martin Hardy's Bulls outfit had a physical game in midweek against Myton Warriors and picked up a few knocks.

Wests beat Skirlaugh in the quarter-finals of the Council Cup two weeks ago with a last minute drop goal, such was the intensity of the game and tomorrow will be no exception.

West Hull have a full squad to pick from, while Skirlaugh are hoping Ross Kemp (shoulder) is fit.

Ian Russell, Tom Saltmer and Paul Hannath are all available for the Bulls.

Parkers and Orchard Park & Greenwood play on Sunday at 12pm at St Georges Road due to Hull FC being at home in the Challenge Cup.

Midweek fixtures will be the norm for the next three weeks to see off the league's back log.

For the second midweek game running, Orchard Park & Greenwood picked up maximum points in the Premier Division.

Having put 50 points past East Hull Dragons the week before, this week they narrowly saw off Norland Sharks 15-14, in what was a dress rehearsal for the Council Cup semi-finals.
